"Fukushima Shoten Ryotokuin" is located near Shoten Street and is adored by many locals and visitors alike. The locals affectionately call it " Shoten-san."

The history of Ryotokuin Temple is steeped in the rich tapestry of Japan's past. Legend has it that the temple was erected before the Edo period (1603-1867), a fact supported by its mention in a historical painting depicting the 'Osaka Summer Battle and Winter Battle.' This is a place where history comes alive, a place where the past meets the present. It is a famous spot for Kakitsubata (Japanese buttercup), and the best time to see them is around May. In April, the Noda wisteria, the flower of Fukushima Ward, is at its most resplendent.

Visitors are free to stroll around the temple grounds, and there are many things to see. The main deities are "Juntei Kannon," which purifies the mind and is the god of childbirth and safe delivery, and "Kangiten," which originates in the Hindu god "Ganesha" and is also the guardian deity of Buddhism. Many gods and Buddhas exist, such as Benzaiten, Mizukake Fudo, Shirahige Inari Daimyojin, Amida Nyorai, and Yeoji Jizo. Visitors can also find "Sazareishi" as nature's creation, Matsuo Basho's haiku monument, and many more in Shoten-san.

The mysterious atmosphere of the combination of Shintoism and Buddhism gently welcomes you. You will receive a lot of power when you visit Shoten-san!
